Passion and addiction

"Passion is like a fuel of a car, it gets the engine going.

Addiction is like the accelerator without the break,
it almost always end up in an accident."

There is only a thin line between what drives and motivates us in our lives. Yet, without control, we can get ourselves hurt easily. I can be addicted to some bad habits in life like having a sweet tooth, computer games but can one truly be addicted to God? Well then, addiction is linked towards negative things and the same goes towards our relationship with God.

Maybe It's still down to a balance of passion towards God. Addiction is still bad. There won't have been arguments with non-christians if it is pure passion. As christians, we should watch that our passion do not turn into addiction. As much as we want others to know about God, it does not always have to be the heated debates, the arguments, the questions that no one has the answers to. There have yet to be anyone I know who has come to receive Christ through intellectual debates. Maybe there will be but how many?

Perhaps its easier to let other people see our passion for God, the passion to care for the people around us, because God told us to first: Love God, your Lord with all your heart, all your soul, all your might. And second, love your neighbour as yourself~
